It’s easy to forget that education for many children around the world is not an option. Let’s forget about options – it is simply not accessible.  In India, countless children go to bed hungry and wake up hungry.  Not only are they hungry for food, they are hungry for opportunities. We are here to change that.

Founded in 2005, the H&A Charitable Foundation, through its sister organization, GBB & Son’s Charitable Trust, based in Vav, Gujarat, India, was established to promote and provide education to the underprivileged.  The trust stems from Mr. Gokalbhai Bhaktibhai Bhakta’s vision in 1966 to change his community. He dedicated his valuable farmland to build a school to educate the children of the surrounding villages. That vision, in that era and that country was unheard of until the birth of the school. Starting with 25 students and only 1 teacher, the school, now known as BNB High School, has grown to 4 buildings, 1400 students, and 75 teachers and staff.

In April 2011, a new building for the English Medium School was built on the campus to provide students with more exposure to the English language. Classes at this school are taught strictly in English starting from nursery school through the 8^th grade. BNB High School runs like any other school – cultural and educational programs are conducted regularly along with Parents’ Day events.  Arts, crafts, dance, karate and sports classes are also part of the curriculum.  Special events and programs are held in the Gandhi Auditorium which is fully air-conditioned, equipped with audio-visual capabilities and over 100 seats.  Alongside the auditorium is the Mahatma Gandhi Art Gallery and Museum housing over 165 photographs and other information depicting Mahatma Gandhi’s life. The school also provides students in kindergarten through 6th grade freshly prepared daily lunches (using locally sourced vegetables and grains) at no cost to the children.
